Chef Camille Schwartz was born and raised in Alsace Lorraine, a region of France on the German border, which is renowned for their excellent food and superb wines.
At a young age Camille apprenticed in classic French cuisine. He went onto travel all over France, and then the world on ocean liners studying the fine preparation of food.
Camille's passion for cooking brought him to Canada in 1966 where he embarked on a six year journey with The Westin Hotel Chain. He was fortunate to travel from Montreal to Calgary, Seattle, Chicago, San Salvador, and even Johannesburg.
Eventually, Camille landed in San Francisco at Ernie's, and then onto Santa Barbara at San Ysidro Ranch and Chanticleer.
In 1983 Camille found his true calling as a chef and restaurant owner with his opening of Mimosa Restaurant in Santa Barbara which embraced a French Mediterranean atmosphere with regional cuisine.

Camille first came to Lake Tahoe in 1978 and since then Tahoe has become the place of choice in his life.
